Bjelin is owned by Mr. Darko Pervan, known as the “King of Laminate,” who has lived in Sweden for decades. He earned this nickname by licensing click-lock laminate technology – a mechanical joint system requiring no glue – which, as of three years ago, accounted for over 90% of flooring installations worldwide. In Croatia, Bjelin operates in the city of Ogulin, employing over 400 people. The company manufactures high-quality three-layer parquet flooring. They are currently developing the “Ogulin 2” project, which includes the construction of a new factory scheduled to begin operations in 2019. year. The new facility is expected to employ more than 600 people and will produce innovative flooring products – Woodura and Nadura – which are projected to become global trends in the coming years. Additionally, the project includes the construction of an HDF plant (for veneer bonding) and a logistics center. Upon completion, the Ogulin site is expected to produce approximately 30 million square meters of various flooring products annually. Bjelin’s next major move in the wood industry involves the development of a click-assembly system for furniture, which the company sees as the future of the furniture industry.
