Another fully equipped vehicle recovery build has been delivered to Palfinger GmbH, the German distributor of Palfinger cranes. This “tow-and-lift” setup is designed for complete vehicle handling—winching, towing, and loading—and is mounted on a Mercedes-Benz Actros 1835L 4×2 chassis with a gross vehicle weight of 18 tonnes and a payload capacity of 5330 kg. The build features a Palfinger PK 19500T crane with a reach of 10 meters, combined with a HK 150 hydraulic sliding platform measuring 6300 mm in length. The setup also includes:
A 5-tonne hydraulic winch
Wheel-lift arms rated for 5 tonnes
Individually controlled hydraulic ramps
Radio remote control for all functions, with optional manual operation as backup
The platform is constructed from stainless steel, with reinforced elements for increased structural integrity. It is coated with an anti-slip surface to improve tire grip during loading. The platform edges are rounded and finished with aluminum tread plates for added durability. The subframe is galvanized for corrosion resistance. The vehicle features two towing hooks—one on the winch, designed for damaged trailer recovery, and one at the rear of the truck for towing heavy trailers.
Additional equipment includes waste and sand bins, wheel chocks, a holder set for broom and shovel, and stainless steel toolboxes fitted with LED interior lighting.
