A new tow truck has been delivered to Palfinger GmbH, equipped with a Palfinger PK 17500 T crane and an HK 150 hydraulic sliding platform, measuring 6300 mm in length. The tow truck is fitted with galvanized folding and side-rotating wheel lifts, capable of handling up to 3000 kg. The entire assembly is mounted on a Mercedes-Benz Atego 1527L chassis.
The Palfinger PK 17500 T crane is specifically designed for towing services and features four hydraulic extensions, offering a maximum outreach of 10 meters. The towing setup can be operated either manually or via Hetronic radio remote control. The crane is equipped with the HPSC system, which allows it to operate efficiently in confined spaces by adjusting stabilizer deployment, ideal for urban environments where space is often limited.
The hydraulic platform is made from stainless steel, while the auxiliary and lifting chassis are hot-dip galvanized according to the customer’s request. Two adjustable galvanized wheel chocks are installed on the platform, which is fully coated with a non-slip surface.
The platform’s edge profile features lashing points every 500 mm for safely securing vehicles of various sizes. A hydraulic winch with a 5100 kg load capacity and a load-holding valve is installed for easy vehicle handling.
Additionally, the setup includes holders for a broom and shovel, waste and sand containers, and a stainless steel tool box. For improved night operations, four work lights are mounted on the platform.
