Palfinger – the world’s largest manufacturer of hydraulic truck cranes – has introduced a new model of the TEC series cranes. It is the PK 135.002 TEC 7 crane, which offers an incredible ratio of crane weight to its performance. The crane can be equipped with three types of additional hydraulic extension (fly-jib), which allows it to reach and lift torque comparable to Palfinger cranes even two classes higher. The new PK 135.002 model is as much as 2,000 kg lighter than its older brother PK 150.002, primarily due to the new P-Profile, which makes the crane lighter, while at the same time offering 35% better performance in combination with the fly-jib.
The crane is multipurpose and excels in lifting heavy loads, precise load manipulation, jobs where extra reach is needed, but also container manipulation and roof assembly jobs.
The Palfinger crane PK 135.002 TEC7 can be mounted on a 4-axle gross weight 32t on which 2,500-3,000 kg of useful load remains or on a 5-axle gross weight 40t on which approx. 8,000 kg of useful load remains. Extraordinary transport permits are not required for these trucks.
The crane has innovative Palfinger options that are “hidden” under the abbreviations MEXT, TOOL and WEIGHT. The MEXT option allows the use of one or two mechanical extensions to be monitored by sensors and their operation can be integrated into the overload protection system. The TOOL option offers a multifunctional adapter (MFA) for connecting additional tools. The WEIGH option allows the operator to measure the weight of the load being lifted. In addition to these new options, the operator of the PK 135.002 TEC7 crane can also use the already well-tested Palfinger options such as P-Fold, DPS-C and HPSC-Plus GEOM. The P-Fold option offers the operator to fold and unfold the crane with a single command. The DPS-C option greatly increases the lifting power of the fly-jib taking into account the weight of the load and the weight of the truck with the load. HPSC-Plus GEOM provides a similar effect, taking into account the weight of the load and the position of the outriggers. The operator can lift a much heavier load with a crane when the stabilizers are not fully extended because the HPSC-Plus GEOM system allows him to do so by taking into account the weight of the load and the position of the extended stabilizers.
The crane had its premiere at the Transport Swiss fair, which was held in Bern from November 16th to 19th, 2017, and at the Solutrans fair in Lyon on November 25th, 2017.
