PK, a trusted Palfinger crane bodybuilder, continues to prove its expertise by carrying out demanding installations of some of the most powerful cranes in the Palfinger range. The latest success is the fourth installation of the PK 165.002 TEC7 within just two years, with more expected to follow. The newest unit has been delivered to M.I. Hršak d.o.o., a company based in Krapina, Croatia. This technologically advanced folding crane is one of the most sophisticated models in the Palfinger lineup—surpassed in reach and power only by the PK 200.002 L SH. The delivered PK 165.002 TEC7 features a seven-extension hydraulic boom system, complemented by an articulated fly jib, significantly increasing both its outreach and flexibility in complex lifting operations. It reaches a working height of over 45 meters and offers a maximum lifting capacity of up to 32,000 kg. Mounted on a MAN TGS 41.420 8×4 BB chassis, the crane is paired with a custom-built steel cargo bed with aluminum side panels, measuring 4400 × 2420 × 400 mm. The TS-4.4 cargo bed includes numerous practical compartments, toolboxes, and dedicated storage spaces for tools and auxiliary equipment, creating a fully equipped mobile workstation.
M.I. Hršak d.o.o. employs nearly 150 people and specializes in the production of profiled sheet metal, architectural sheet metal components, and the installation of steel structures, roofing systems, and panel façades. This is their second PK 165.002 TEC7, reinforcing their capacity to handle even the most challenging construction projects.
This is one of the most technologically advanced folding Palfinger cranes, surpassed only by the Palfinger PK 200.002 L SH in terms of reach and lifting power. In addition to the crane, a steel platform with aluminum side panels has been mounted on the vehicle, featuring internal dimensions of 4400 × 2420 × 400 mm. The TS-4.4 platform includes numerous practical compartments, boxes, and storage spaces for tools and additional equipment.
The delivered Palfinger crane features a seven-extension hydraulic boom with an additional articulated arm (fly jib). In addition to the hydraulic jib, the crane is equipped with a mechanical jib PJM020, which extends the outreach by 5.25 meters, bringing the total working height to 45.25 meters! The maximum horizontal outreach with the mechanical jib is 41.15 meters. The crane is equipped with a hydraulic winch with a lifting capacity of 4500 kg and a cable length of 95 meters. For quick attachment changes, the crane features a Palfinger multifunctional adapter that allows easy connection of a fly jib, hook, work basket, or similar equipment.
The Palfinger PK 165.002 TEC 7 is equipped with numerous operator-friendly features designed to simplify and speed up crane operation. One such feature is AOS (Active Oscillation Suppression), which prevents boom vibrations caused by sudden movements. This contributes to increased safety for personnel, the load, and the surrounding environment by minimizing unwanted jerking of the crane and its payload. Another key feature is HPSC (High Performance Stability Control), one of the most common options in Palfinger cranes. HPSC enables crane operation even in conditions where it is not possible to fully extend the stabilizers. In such cases, the crane can still operate, but with a reduced lifting capacity that corresponds to the current stability of the vehicle.
