Increasing mobility for people in wheelchairs is extremely important. In order to actively participate in all areas of public and private life, they need a vehicle equipped for the transport of people with disabilities.
Just such a vehicle left our workshop for the first time. For the needs of the users of the Rehabilitation Center – Rijeka , we installed a Palfinger RTP35 HI-HF wheelchair ramp on the Opel Vivaro Combi L2H1 2.0 vehicle. The ramp is characterized by a compact design, taking up very little space in the vehicle when folded. It is built for today’s heavier and wider wheelchairs with a high-quality steel platform and anti-slip base. The mesh platform allows the driver greater visibility to the rear door through the ramp. The handrails are without sharp edges, designed to extend from 65% to 88% of their length to increase passenger safety, and are at the same time very compact as they do not take up extra space when folded. With this innovative handle design, the RTP35 HI FI ramp will fit into a variety of vehicle models. The ramp is very easy to operate using the manual remote control. We also installed a new floor in the vehicle with built-in rails and a belt for accepting the stroller.
The delivered ramp is a donation from the Dalmatian Homeland Society to the center’s users, and a ceremonial handover was organized for the occasion, where, on behalf of the Dalmatian Homeland Society, Ante Vranješ, president of the society, handed over the keys to the van to the director of the Rijeka Rehabilitation Center, Gordana Saršon.
